## Sample Lesson Plan
Here is an example of the learning objectives our teachers work toward in a typical lesson. Our curriculum is play-based and integrates multiple areas of development simultaneously.
### Cognitive Development
- Naming objects (classroom items, foods, playground elements)
- Identifying properties such as colors, textures, and actions
- Classification and sorting skills
- Comparing objects by size and characteristics
- Understanding spatial relationships and basic time concepts
- Distinguishing between "inside" and "outside" voices
### Social-Emotional Development
- Responding to one's own name and learning the names of peers
- Practicing appropriate voice levels in different settings
- Becoming familiar with school routines such as cooperative cleanup
- Developing a sense of belonging and community
### Music Integration
- Learning two songs sung daily at CDLC, including greeting songs and children's classics
- Clapping to musical beats
- Singing and movement activities
### Motor Skills & Spatial Awareness
- Movement games such as Freeze and Close But Not Touching
- Learning personal space and directional vocabulary (up/down, front/behind/side)
- Practicing locomotion techniques: walking, jogging, running
### Christian Curriculum
- Introduction to the Bible as God's special book
- Age-appropriate Bible stories about Jesus
- Christian values woven through daily stories and songs
